In Search Of Fitness Inspiration

Baby it’s cold outside! Winter is definitely in the air and I can feel a cold trying to get a grip on my body. I have learnt the hard way not to try to out-run a cold. So, other than a cycle to the shops, I am taking it easy today. Physically anyway…mentally I am racing towards fitness inspiration!

So, I have made myself pretty cosy and am thinking up future fitness plans.

What’s next?

I am pretty happy to get out and run in any weather but I am slightly more wary of going out alone in the dark. I also want to try something different. Because I mainly run and cycle all my strength is in my legs. I think it is time to give the upper body something to chew on.

A complete lack of coordination makes fitness classes, such as Zumba, amusing but not always successful. It’s time for a little new inspiration.

For far too long now I have been swearing I will start yoga or pilates. My flexibility is going down as my age goes up. Niggles and old injuries don’t seem to go away like they used to.  A yogalates class at my local leisure centre sounds like the perfect start and I am planning to go next week.

SUP Yoga & Fitness UK are also soon to be starting stand up paddle board pool sessions near me. I think these are going to be a must try!

Climbing the walls

Climbing was my full body work out. Weekly visits to the Nottingham Climbing Centre meant going home with aching fingers and hands but a smile upon my face. Outdoor climbing never hit the spot in the same way though. Standing at the bottom of a rock face for hours did not sit well with my restlessness.

Heading back to the climbing wall is certainly an option but what else can I try?

Share your inspiration

So what do you do? What is your fitness fix? Have any of you tried weird and wonderful classes, joined fun, different, groups or even have any sports or activities you have been thinking of trying?

Let’s inspire each other!

    Bouldering!

Haha, maybe! But bouldering is the reason behind my dodgy knee so I am a little wary. Maybe indoors ?

I’m at the depot on a Thursday evening and Saturday afternoon, feel free to join me 🙂

You can always do steep juggy routes then down climb if it’s just the workout you are after.
