Post-marathon treat

Today’s adventure was a recovery one! I was heading back to Nottingham, following yesterdays Beachy Head Marathon, with my parents. We stopped off at the gorgeous National Trust property, Standen House.

A Little About Standen House

Standen House is in the Sussex countryside and is a fantastic snapshot of a well off, family home in the 1920’s. Delightful gardens surround the Philip Webb designed house, embellished by its William Morris & Co. interiors. The tropical style patterns in a lot of the rooms are really up my street.

My legs are pretty sore and solid after yesterday’s marathon (blog to follow soon!), so the stairs were a challenge. It was worth a painful hobble around Standen’s house and gardens for the wonderful colours and decoration.
